Luxury fifth-wheel builder DRV Luxury Suites reported first-quarter sales for its Mobile Suites, Mobile Suites Estates, Elite Suites and Tradition lines are up 70% over the first quarter of 2012, according to the March report by Statistical Surveys Inc., while market share increased 57%.
“This has been our best quarter since the Great Recession and we owe that to our great dealer body and loyal customers,” Rocky Holman, product Manager for the Howe, Ind.-based builder, said in a press release. “What’s even more amazing is that we’ve had the most growth in our two highest end lines – Elite Suites and Mobile Suites Estates – the latter which debuted at last year’s Elkhart Open House.”
Holman attributed DRV’s growth to building full-timer fifth-wheels with residential style construction and amenities. “We’ve pushed the envelope over the past year on what it means to build ‘True Residential’ RVs by adding standard residential appliances like Whirlpool side by side refrigerators, GE convection/microwaves, dishwashers, garbage disposals, plus Lane furniture and Shaw flooring,” he said.
Many of DRV’s customers will be in town for the Suites Owner’s International Travel Club rally at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds, June 10 – 14. The annual rally draws DRV owners from all over North America.
“We look forward to having such a large group of our customers together to find out what we’re doing right and where we can still improve their RVing experience,” Holman said. “We also get a chance to thank them for the great success we’ve had this year.”

Luxury fifth-wheel builder DRV Luxury Suites is reporting “immediate success” with its recently added Mobile Suites Estates line, according to a press release.
DRV said that the Mobile Suites Estates series, priced and equipped between the company’s Mobile Suites and the top-of-the-line Elite Suites, has resonated with consumers with “true residential” features and a contemporary two-tone décor.
“We introduced the Mobile Suites Estates at Elkhart Open House last year with the first units not hitting dealers’ lots until October,” said DRV Product Manager Rocky Holman, noting that 77% of the units delivered to dealers from October to December were already sold. “Our Estates are turning so well that more units have retailed in just seven months than are available on dealers’ lots today.”
Holman said the Mobile Suites Estates is emblematic of the “True Residential” category that DRV targets. Standard features include a Whirlpool residential refrigerator, GE convection microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, sparkling quartz countertops, Lane furniture and Shaw carpeting. Other amenities include wood plank vinyl, soft close drawers, ceramic tile backsplash, 3 1/4-inch thick sidewalls, high density wool insulation, water manifold and four -season comfort.
Setting off the interior is a two-tone Urban Glaze kitchen island and overhead soffit with real residential can lights. Additionally, the large bathroom, available with 48-inch or 60-inch full-size showers, is designed with different wallboard, cabinets and counters from the rest of the coach.
On the exterior the Estates is a full fiberglass unit with a straight roofline fiberglass roof and integrated fiberglass fender skirts. There is also more than ample outside storage available in the oversized pass through compartment.
“We’re really happy with the customer response to our Estates line,” said National Sales Manager Kyle Miller. “What’s even more incredible is how quickly our customers are buying it. Most of our customers are in the ‘buying’ process for more than a year before they buy or order a coach, as they sort out floorplans, options, decors, attend rallies and take plant tours.
