Maryland RV Show is Today’s Featured Video

Today’s featured video is from the Maryland Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (MRVDA). The association was founded as a group of RV dealers selling motorhomes, travel trailers and conversion vehicles.

The MRVDA also holds two major RV Shows each year at the Timonium Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md. The first show takes place the last two full weekends of February with the second being held on one weekend in September.

Charles Leroy Widerman of Randallstown, Md., a prominent Maryland RV dealer, died Dec. 16 at his home. He was 81.

Widerman served in the U.S. Army, then became an automotive parts counter man until 1964 when he started Charlie’s Camping Center, renting and selling recreational vehicles with his wife and family, according to the Carroll County Times, Westminster, Md.

He was director of the then newly organized national Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) and served as an officer and director. He was co-founder of Maryland Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association and served as an officer and director. He designed, drew the plans and built the present RV building on Liberty Road in Randallstown. He enjoyed many travel trips to other countries as well as RV trips.

Widerman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille; two daughters; a son; and four grandchildren.

The funeral was today at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, Winfield, Md. Interment was in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville, Md. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Gilchrist Hospice, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031; or Alzheimer’s Association, 108 Byte Drive, Suite 103, Frederick MD 21702.
