Keystone RV Co.’s Montana line has built strong brand recognition with consumers, ranking among the top-selling fifth-wheels for the past 13 years. As evidence of the brand’s popularity, around 125 rigs gathered at Indiana’s Elkhart County Fairgrounds to mark the 10th anniversary of the Montana Owners Club Rally, running through Oct. 2. Montana Owners Club wagonmaster Jim Schlee reported that the attendance represented a record for the organization as rigs filled all the available spaces at the fairgrounds. RVers from across the U.S. and Canada made the trek, including a dozen first-time rally attendees and a number of new Montana owners. Earning distinction as the “longest distance traveled,” one loyal Montana owner hailed from Australia. Montana Product Manager Mike Mack noted, “We think this record-setting rally speaks to the popularity of the Montana brand and our enthusiastic owners. In a day and age when many clubs are perceived as struggling, the Montana Owners Club is vibrant, alive and growing.” Mack, along with other Keystone personnel, were meeting with owners throughout the rally. In addition, a factory tour is planned today (Sept. 27) to Keystone’s campus in Goshen. “A highlight for us will be the opportunity to unveil the all-new Montana to MOC rally attendees, Mack said. “We have no doubt our owners will love the completely redesigned Montana as much as our dealers did at last week’s Open House.”

Keystone RV Owners Rally at Hoosier Campground

image001Members of the Keystone Montana Owners club conducted their national fall rally at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds in Goshen, Ind., last week.

Approximately 80 rigs and 170 people attended a week of education, socializing, sightseeing and fun. One of the highlights of the rally was the “ladies driving school” on Saturday (Sept. 27), at the Keystone RV Co. service center in Goshen, according to a news release.

The Montana Owners Club is an independent organization founded by owners of the popular Keystone Montana, Big Sky and Mountaineer brands. The Montana brands are the No. 1 selling fifth-wheel RVs over the past eight years.

According to club wagonmaster Jo Anna Kikel, the ladies driving school is a hugely popular event. “Most over-the-road RV driving is done by the husband,” Kikel said. “If the wife is comfortable in handling the rig she can relieve her spouse on long drives and help out in an emergency. Learning from a ‘non-involved’ third party eliminates the stress. Remember when your dad first taught you to drive? It wasn’t fun, was it? The instructors in the ‘ladies driving school’ provide you with new skills and driving knowledge and it’s really enjoyable.”

In addition to the Ladies Driving School, other rally activities included touring Amish Country, Elkhart-area RV suppliers and the Keystone factory in Goshen. Technical seminars were held throughout the week helping members get more enjoyment from their Montana RV.

“It is a tremendous benefit for Keystone to have owners so involved in the RV lifestyle,” said Aram Koltookian, general manager of the Montana Group.  “The Montana Owners Club provides us with valuable feedback about our products and designs and helps us continually improve the brand. We welcome them to Goshen.”

Keystone RV Co. is the nation’s largest producer of travel trailers and fifth-wheels with manufacturing facilities at its headquarters in Goshen and Pendleton, Ore. Keystone is a subsidiary of Thor Industries Inc., Jackson Center, Ohio, the world’s largest manufacturer of RVs and a major builder of commercial buses.
