Outdoor Express RV, an RV dealership in Falling Waters, W. Va., provided four travel trailers to the National Park Foundation for the dedication ceremony of the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pa., on Sept. 10 and the 10th anniversary memorial service of the September 11 attacks the following day.
According to a press release, the RVs were used as “green rooms” for several of the dignitaries participating in the ceremonies, including President Barack Obama, former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, Gov. Tom Ridge and singer Sarah McLachlan.
Scott Subasic with Outdoor Express responded on short notice to RVIA’s request to provide units to the National Park Foundation. The group contacted RVIA for assistance just days prior to the event as “green rooms” became a necessity with torrential rain pelting the East Coast.
“We are very thankful to Scott and Outdoor Express for reacting so quickly and working with the National Park Foundation to provide these units for the 9/11 ceremonies in Shanksville,” said James Ashurst, vice president of public relations and advertising for the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). “Given the nasty weather leading up to the event, the staff at the National Park Foundation appreciated having the RVs on site to provide a dry, comfortable areas for the guest speakers and entertainers.”
