Outdoors RV Manufacturing Inc. has sold at retail the first-ever Black Stone travel trailer, introduced last November. According to a press release, David and Susan King purchased the trailer at Kelowna Truck and RV in British Columbia.
Outdoors RV said that the Black Stone product line is targeting the buyer that is downsizing from a motorhome or larger fifth-wheel but is still looking for luxury-type features.
“Incredible spacious kitchen and countertops, along with the wonderful interior colors and the French door going into the master bedroom give this trailer a very residential feel,” said Susan King.
Randy Woodside, owner of Kelowna RV, noted, “As a new dealer with Outdoors RV we are thrilled with the quality and features of all the product lines, and so are our customers. These RVs come to us so well built that our pre-delivery inspection can be done in less than half the time of the other brands that we carry.
“It is no wonder that Outdoors RV is experiencing such rapid growth in market share with these products. As a growing dealership ourselves we have never seen such a well thought-out product that offers so much for such an incredible value.”
Since its inception in May of 2009, Outdoors RV Manufacturing Inc. “continues to see large increases in market share while outperforming the market,” according to a press release.
“We are a small company that continues to grow in a challenging market by staying close with our customers and listening to our dealers as to what is needed in the marketplace,” said Jim Croxton, general manager of the La Grande, Ore.-based builder.
According to Outdoors RV, the company is up 22.7 % in the towable market in its western United States sales areas of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Nevada and California. The company said it has also seen a 23.4% market share increase in the western provinces of Canada, which “is virtually flat for the year.”
Outdoors RV, which builds climate-designed, four seasons towables, recently debuted its new Blackstone travel trailer line, offered in five floorplans ranging in length from 28 to 34 feet.
“We believe that much of our success is based on partnering with the right dealer for long term business relations, allowing each of our partners large trade areas and providing exceptional sales training/support to maximize our travel trailer retail turns,” Croxton said.
The company reported that it will be shipping the first Blakcstone units this month. For further product information or dealership opportunities visit www.outdoorsrvmfg.com.
Outdoors RV Manufacturing Inc. has introduced the BlackStone travel trailer series, the latest in the La Grande, Ore-based company’s lineup of climate-designed, four-seasons towables.
According to a press release, the BlackStone is offered in five floorplans ranging in length from 28 to 34 feet. Offering expanded interior and exterior storage space, Outdoors RV said BlackStone is targeting RVers looking to “downsize from a motorhome or larger fifth-wheel but still wanting luxury features.”
The BlackStone is also built with Outdoors RV’s “Armor Shield” construction, which places aluminum framing in eight different areas along with rigid lightweight steel trusses in the ceiling.
“This is the type of construction that the targeted RV buyers are accustomed to in the high-end fifth-wheel or motorhome they currently own,” said Jim Croxton, general manager.
Highlighted features include: On-demand tankless hot water system, vaulted radius interior ceilings, 50% larger “mountain sized” strut designed luggage doors, 70 gallons of fresh water capacity and 80 gallons of grey water capacity. Models are also available with livingroom fireplaces, wireless touch pads to operate slideouts, awnings, power stab jacks, and 60-inch by 80-inch residential queen beds.
Prior to launching the BlackStone, Outdoors RV said it consulted with its dealers, both in the U.S. and Canada. “The prototype design that was shown to dealers for feedback underwent 65 product enhancements prior to going into full production,” noted Croxton.
NormVanNess Jr., general manager at Lewiston RV in Lewiston, Idaho, stated, “The BlackStone is by far the Cadillac of the travel trailer industry with many features and construction you see in high-end fifth wheels. This BlackStone will fill the gap in the industry for those who want high-line fifth-wheel quality in a travel trailer. In my opinion, there is not a finer, high quality trailer on the market.”

Outdoors RV said that Jubilee RV is “very active in helping develop the latest products by providing product feedback on a regular basis.”
Croxton added, “They have had tremendous success due to the fact that they spend an incredible amount of time on factory product training so the sales staff is very professional in talking to the customers, allowing them the opportunity to earn their business.”
