American RV Center Fall Sale a ‘Huge Success’

“With RV owners looking for year-end deals, RV dealers are seeing big returns on direct mail and email marketing targeting their customers and 2000-2007 “Trade-Up Buyers” off their state RV owner lists,” states Jay Perrett of Outpost Communications, a St. Petersburg, Fla., firm specializing in direct mail marketing for RV dealers.

“We’ve had many success stories during 2011 and the latest is the recent Cash Give-Away Promotion at American RV Center in Evansville, Ind., that ran Sept. 23- Oct. 1,” said Perrett in a release on behalf of his company, which mailed 15,000 11-by-17 tri-fold flyers to American RV’s customer list and Indiana towable RV owners. In addition, Outpost ran a 2-time 30,000-email campaign to the closest 30,000 towable RV owners to American RV Center.

“We sold a bunch of units to customers and prospects that came in directly with our sale flyer. The traffic was fantastic and we were very pleased with the flyer and the results of the promotion.” said Keith Willis, American RV Center. “We had bratwurst, hot dogs, hamburgers and cold drinks both weekends. We sold a bunch of new and used RV’s from the specials we ran in the flyer and the email.”

The Cash Give-Away promotion was insured, according to Perrett. There were five winning numbers, including a $10,000 grand prize, a $5,000 prize and three $1,000 cash prizes. The cost of the insurance was 4%, or $720, giving 15,000 RV owners the opportunity to come in for a chance to win. “Our customers really enjoyed the promotion,” said Willis.

“On Saturday, Oct 1st, we had a huge Parts & Accessories Garage Sale,” he added. “We cleared out four service bays and sold select parts for pennies on the dollar. We had a ton of traffic and sales; great promotion.”
