Paradise Coast RV LLC, a new manufacturer in Benton Harbor, Mich., is looking for investors to ramp up production of its retro-style Silver Beach travel trailer. The company, founded in 2010, has produced a 14-foot all-aluminum prototype that was shown at the Elkhart County Open House in September and expects eventually to build 9-foot to 24-foot floorplans. ”We’ve been doing a lot of research and development for the last two years,” said President Ted Simpson, who has worked for several RV manufacturers in various positions. ”There are single people out there, particularly women, who want a retro-style trailer so they can fit into the antique rallies. They want a new trailer because they don’t have the time or the money to refurbish a unit.” With six contract employees, Paradise Coast had four units in production at the end of October. ”We have a couple of dealers in Florida and Connecticut that we are working with right now and several dealers throughout the country who have shown a lot of interest,” said Simpson, 49. While retro in style, the ”green” Silver Beach has modern appliances, flat-panel TVs, one-touch audio systems, anti-microbial flooring that is mold and rot resistant, oversized windows, jackknife sofas, real wood paneling, cabinets and trim, u-shaped dinettes and stainless steel exterior lettering. MSRP: $23,300.
