Canadian RV Dealer Killed in Freak Tractor Accident

James Veraart, operator of William Patterson RV Sales and Service in Dutton, Ontario, was killed Saturday (Nov. 14) in a tractor rollover accident.

Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police said the accident happened about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pioneer Line and Miller Road in Dutton/Dunwich Township, according to the London Free Press. Dutton is located southwest of London.

Veraart, 34, of Dutton, was driving a 1959 model tractor off a field and was traveling eastbound on Pioneer Line. When he tried to turn south on to Miller Road the tractor overturned and rolled into a deep ditch, pinning him underneath.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to his obituary, Veraart was a passionate collector of Minneapolis Moline tractors. The dealership was started more than 20 years ago by Veraart’s father-in-law, William Patterson.

Arn Funeral Home in Dutton is in charge of funeral arrangements.
