The Asset Protection Division of Protective Life Corp. made its annual commitment to the RV Learning Center, bringing its total support to $132,558.
According to a press release, the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) has exclusively endorsed Protective’s XtraRide service agreement since 1992.
“This is another major demonstration of support for the RV Learning Center from one of the RV industry’s leading companies,” said RV Learning Center Chairman Jeff Pastore of Hartville RV Center in Hartville, Ohio. “Protective and its agents have consistently championed continuing education and training. This financial contribution comes at a critical time for the RV Learning Center as it works to provide education resources for dealership personnel.”

To make the convention as affordable as possible, the registration fee for dealership employees is the same as last year. RVDA is also offering special registration plans, including an easy-pay plan of four payments and the ability to lock in early-bird savings for additional employees with one-paid convention registration.
Themed “The Road to Opportunity,” the convention will present educational super sessions designed to help dealers navigate the issues and opportunities they face today and presenting strategies to reach new customers through new technology and to harness the power of social media. This year’s conference also introduces a new series of fixed operations workshops for service and parts managers to improve efficiency and profitability.
The 2012 convention will feature an exhibit hall filled with the RV industry’s top companies offering products and services to help dealers improve profitability. RVDA’s Partners in Progress Brand Committees will also meet to work on important dealer/manufacturer issues.

Protective Life Corp. concluded its annual RV agent meeting in Charlotte, N.C., with a commitment to deliver innovative solutions and program enhancements to its distribution partners, including a new program for RV owners whose vehicles are not protected by manufacturer warranties.
“The meeting was successful on several fronts,” noted Bill Koster, vice president of recreation products for the Chesterfield, Mo., firm, in a news release. ”We were pleased by the large number of attendees and their positive attitude in light on the current economic climate. Our dealers and their customers will ultimately benefit from the infusion of new ideas around driving business success.”
Koster unveiled a new consumer educational DVD designed to broaden awareness about F&I products and increase sales. The DVD has the flexibility of being played in a customer waiting area or in a sales office during a sales presentation. “The DVD is another effective way to bring more value to the dealership,” said Koster.
Protective introduced proposed program changes set to launch in early 2010. Some elements of the program changes are going to be introduced immediately.
“We plan to roll out some program enhancements in 2009. These include covering vehicles without a manufacturer warranty and covering cross-border transactions,” Koster said. Additional program changes will be introduced in 2010 in both the U.S. and Canada.
Koster mentioned that the combination of great distribution partners and the strength and stability of Protective are critical as market conditions continue to improve.
