“Celebrate Excellence: An All-Industry Gala” on October 5 will include a reception, dinner, awards ceremony, and dancing/networking and will start at 6:30 p.m. It is a separately ticketed event. The Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) will present the association’s Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) Quality Circle Awards to top-performing manufacturers at a special all-industry dinner at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., on Oct. 5 during the 2011 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo.
Now in its 18th year, the DSI survey began in April. Dealers have until July 1 to rate the brands/manufacturers they carry on eight factors of importance to dealers. Those areas include: sales support, sales territory, vehicle design, vehicle reliability/quality, competitive price/value, parts support, dealership warranty support and overall dealer communications.
“It’s very appropriate to present the Quality Circle Awards in conjunction with the 2011 convention,” said RVDA Chairman of the Board Tim O’Brien of Circle K RVs in Lapeer, Mich. “The dinner will offer an outstanding opportunity to celebrate and recognize excellence in RV manufacturing and business practices along with dealers and the entire RV industry.”
To qualify for the Quality Circle Award, brands/manufacturers must receive at least 15 dealer responses and score 80% or higher in overall dealer satisfaction. RVDA held the award ceremony the day before the opening of the Louisville Show in previous years. There will be a separate registration charge for the special all-industry dinner. More details on the dinner will be available as the convention approaches.
Results of this year’s DSI will be presented at Partners in Progress Brand Committee meetings during the convention on Oct. 3-4. Only dealers carrying a particular manufacturer’s brand of products may attend brand committee meetings.
Themed “ReVolution: Take Charge Today,” the convention will be filled with vital information that will prepare RV dealers and their employees to take advantage of new opportunities in today’s RV market. The education program will include workshops on wholesale and retail financing options, new inventory management strategies, and how to reach new customers through innovative marketing communications.
The 2011 convention will also feature an exhibit hall filled with the RV industry’s top companies offering products and services to help dealers improve profitability. Companies interested in exhibitor information can contact RVDA at (703) 591-7130, ext. 103, visit www.rvda.org, or send an e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
To make the convention as affordable as possible, RVDA is offering special registration plans including an “Easy-Pay” plan of four payments and the ability to “lock-in” early bird savings for additional employees with one paid convention registration submitted by May 31. Tiffin Motorhomes will be honored with one of only four Quality Circle Awards presented by the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) to Class A motorhome manufacturers in 2010 for top-rank design, reliability, quality, value and competitive price on Nov. 29, prior to the National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky.
A total of 423 RV dealers provided 2,125 ratings in the Dealer Satisfaction Index survey conducted earlier this year. According to a Tiffin news release, Tiffin’s ratings substantially exceeded the motorized industry average in seven surveyed categories: vehicle design, vehicle reliability/quality, competitive price/value, dealership warranty support, parts support, overall dealer communications and sales territory.
The Quality Circle Award is presented by the RVDA to manufacturers which received at least 15 dealer responses and scored 80 percent or above in overall dealer satisfaction. The 2010 Quality Circle Award is Tiffin’s 12th.
“The Dealer Satisfaction Index is one major indicator of our primary goal of customer satisfaction,” said Tim Tiffin, general manager. “We are gratified that our ratings reflect across-the-board the standards we set in terms of customer service, innovative engineering, quality, value and outstanding dealer support. Our continuing industry leadership in the DSI is both gratifying and challenging. Now we dedicate our efforts to maintaining and enhancing our customer and dealer confidence.”
