The ROUTE 66 RV Network has announced the addition of Specialty RV Sales and Coastal RV to its roster of 135-plus retail locations nationwide.
“We are very selective when it comes to adding new dealers to the network,” said Route 66 partner Rob Merrill in a press release. “Both of these dealers have come to us very highly recommended in terms of the quality and integrity of their operations.”
Specialty RV Sales is a two-location, full-service RV dealership located in Lancaster, Ohio, southeast of Columbus. According to Dean Tennison, Specialty’s owner, “Like ROUTE 66, we’ve built our reputation by exceeding our customers’ expectations. In fact, it’s that common focus on building solid customer and vendor relationships that made this decision to lock arms with the Route 66 network dealers so obvious.”
David Stoup, president of Carrollton, Va.-based Coastal RV, noted, “ROUTE 66 will offer a natural extension to the friends and family atmosphere we’re proud to deliver our customers at Coastal. We’re not only excited for the tremendous benefits our customers will receive as they visit other network dealers while traveling, but also for the opportunity to return the favor to our fellow network dealer customers.”
The ROUTE 66 Dealer Network is holding its annual rally in San Antonio, Texas, Sept. 11-13, bringing together all network dealers and partner suppliers for a “time of vision and relationship building.”
The event will open on Sunday with the ROUTE 66 golf tournament and a welcome reception that evening. The general meeting commences the following morning with a joint meeting of dealers and partners prior to breakout sessions that include the Rally’s Partner Expo. The rally will wrap up on Tuesday with a partner breakout session and the final dealer-only meeting.
In July, the eight-year-old Overland Park, Kan.-based organization included 96 dealers with 145 stores located in 43 states.
“Our typical dealership has been established for over 30 years and most are multi-generational,” Rob Merrill, one of four partners who own the network, told RV Business Magazine.
Merrill’s partners include Dave Francis, Chris Boyd and Steve Francis, who owns Trailside RV in Grain Valley, Mo.
ROUTE 66 has a strong Internet presence and is continually looking to broaden its footprint. On other fronts, the network offers 40 consumer and dealer programs.
