Traveling in an RV opens up a whole new world, but it’s not without its compromises — particularly when it comes to meal preparation. George Murphy, who has been RVing for a quarter-century, knows full well the adjustments the need to be made when cooking with fewer accessories and has debuted a new Internet show, RV Chef, intended to show that food on the road does not have to be fast or mediocre.
“We hope to produce one program every week or so that will run from 5 – 8 minutes and each and will show the viewer how to make wonderful food within the confines of their RV. It won’t be complicated but will be a lot of fun,” says Murphy. The show is shot inside his Newmar Corp. Mountain Aire fifth-wheel trailer.
RV Chef will also touch on the RV lifestyle and offer tips and suggestions to better enjoy your RV. It will provide an excellent source of information for the experienced RVer, the first-time buyer and renters of RVs.
As a service to their visitors and customers, RV dealerships will be able to play the RV Chef videos on their websites free by adding the RV Chef Button for their viewers to click through.
“Mainly, it’s all about the food,” says Murphy, who is the show’s producer and chef. “After all, who can resist ‘falling off the bone’ barbeque or fresh Navajo fried bread or shrimp-stuffed mushrooms. Much of the show is about cooking in an RV.”
