Inventor Designs Outdoor RV Carpet Holder

October 5, 2010 by · 1 Comment

InventHelp, America’s largest inventor service company, has announced that one of its clients, an inventor from Washington, has designed a patented motorized carpet-storage unit that would facilitate the use of outdoor carpeting at the entrance to an RV or camper, according to a news release.

The “Outdoor Carpet Holder,” designed to be mounted to the rear, underside of the vehicle, would also feature a brush to clean the carpet as it is retracted. This feature would help to reduce the tracking of dirt and debris inside the vehicle. Additionally, the device would allow for faster and easier convenient space-saving storage of carpeting.

The device has yet to be built so no photograph or drawing is available.

How it Works

The Outdoor Carpet Holder storage unit would feature a retractable, cylindrical carpet holder which would be housed within a stationary base. The base would be mounted to the RVs undercarriage. The carpeting would be attached to the cylinder via snaps. A hinged lid with a brush attached to its bottom edge would rest above the carpet. A motor would be embedded into the shaft. A stand with retractable legs would be featured at the end of the shaft. A retracting knob would be located just above the stand. A user would install the unit on the undercarriage of the vehicle via the tripod legs. The user, via control buttons, would withdraw the carpet from underneath the vehicle and spread it out under the vehicle’s door. When the user retracts the carpeting, the roller brush would help to sweep dirt and debris from the surface. The Outdoor Carpet Holder could be producible in variations for different sizes of RVs and campers. The unit also can be designed for installation inside a cubby hole.
