According to a press release, the site is currently being reviewed by county officials for expansion plans, including construction of two new buildings. No date is set for the new construction.
Don Strollo, president Of RV One Superstores, reported, “The new location will undergo a quick remodel, a fresh coat of paint and be open by Jan. 2 under the name Tampa RV.”
Strollo expects to hire 55 to 60 people in the next 30 days. A job fair is set for Dec. 13-14 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tampa while the store is being remodeled.
RV One Superstores, which owns four dealership sites, operates two other Florida locations in Winter Park and Orlando. The Orlando store has been open for five years and is the company’s second largest dealership, generating $44.1 million in sales in 2012. Statistical Surveys Inc. lists Orlando RV as the third largest volume retailer in units sales for Florida through September 2013.
Strollo’s brother, Matt, who opened the Orlando store, will oversee the Dover facility. “This is another new opportunity for RV One Superstores to show who we are in a new market and I couldn’t be more excited about the challenges of opening the store,” he said. “It should be a little bit easier than it was five years ago given the rate at which our industry has recovered.”
The company is also in the process of constructing its largest facility in Albany, set to open July, 2014.
