At the March 5 Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Annual Meeting in Palms Springs, Calif., the board approved the recommendation of the China Committee to establish an RVIA office in China.

According to a press release, the office would coordinate the association’s efforts to work with Chinese governmental agencies and the country’s developing RV and campground industries to remove regulatory barriers impeding the U.S. RV industry’s growth in China.

In other actions, the RVIA board:

• Voted to decrease the RVIA seal fee from the current rate of $18 to $17, effective April 1, with the fee applying to all member manufacturer vehicle types. The Go RVing new unit assessment remains at the current levels of $46 for folding camping trailers and truck campers, $61 for travel trailers and fifth-wheels, and $74 for motorhomes.

• Selected the Hotel Viking in Newport, R.I., to host the September board meeting, scheduled for Sept. 26-29.
