RV News Net LLC has boosted the distribution and reach of its recreational vehicle focused Internet television network RVNN.TV with release of a dedicated top-level channel on the Roku streaming video player.
According to a press release, the Roku is a set-top box that hooks up to a high-speed internet connection and displays internet delivered television and games to consumer flat screen TV’s.
RVNN.TV is an web-based television network dedicated to the world of RVs – the first of its kind. While shows have been accessible to a global viewing audience online since early 2011, viewers in over three million households can now add the RVNN.TV network to their channel favorites with a single click on the Roku remote.
RVNN.TV joins the ranks of other top-level networks in the Roku Channel Store such as HBO GO, Hulu Plus, Fox News, Disney, CNBC, and WSJ Live, bringing a line-up of more than a dozen RV-lifestyle and business programs to the television screen. RVNN.TV covers news and live RV-related events and also produces popular shows like RVNN Live, Geocaching World, Ask The Professor, GadgetPlex, Tails From The Road, and What’s Wrong With This Picture.
“RVNN.TV now has highly visible placement in the Channel Store in the Fitness and Outdoor category, so users can easily find our network and add RVNN.TV to their personal channel list with a single click,” said RVNN.TV founder Andy McCaskey. “This will have a tremendous impact as we continue to build our RVNN.TV brand and loyal following.”
On Jan. 15, RV News Net (RVNN.tv) launches with 12 RV-oriented TV shows distributed over the Internet. In addition to traditional website and podcast distribution, RVNN’s shows will be delivered via “over-the-top” Internet TV systems such as Roku and Boxee, according to a news release.
RVNN will be advertiser-supported, offering viewers a broad range of RVing and RV-related content, largely in a breezy, informal style.
According to Andy McCaskey, managing director of the Elkhart, Ind.-based network, “RVNN is casual TV, not highly produced, but the trade-off is a closer relationship with our audience, more immediacy and a higher level of involvement that translates into a more productive marketing channel for advertisers. ”

RVNN.tv programs are produced at the network’s studio in Elkhart, using both local talent and guests, many of whom will join the shows via Skype.
Shows in the initial 13-week run will include:
- “Ask The Professor” — The Texas RV Professor Terry Cooper provides a weekly call in show on every facet of do-it-yourself RV maintenance.
- “Tails from the Road” — Veterinarian Dr. Jill Windy shows RVers how to keep their furry four-footed traveling companions healthy and safe at home as well as on the road.
- “What’s Wrong with This Picture?” — Professional photographer Dennis Guillaume focuses on how to make and organize better photos of RVing adventures.
- “History on Wheels” — A peek at vintage camping and RVing at The RV/MH Hall of Fame.
- “RV Capital Talk” — A weekly interview program with leaders of the RV industry.
- “Show Spot” — An interview series recorded at industry and lifestyle trade shows and rallies, such as the RVIA Louisville show and other events.
- “Close Up” — A product-focused show including unit walk arounds and inside interviews as well.
- “Road Rookies” — Mother-Daughter team Dana Massie and Lynne Massie introduce their “RVing Made Easy” approach and share their first timer adventures in a motorhome.
- “RVing for Good” — Delbert and Linda Shrock use their fifth-wheel as a base camp for field mission work at sites around the country – keeping them involved in meaningful, active lifestyle in retirement.
- “RV Kitchen” — Award winning author Evada Cooper’s insight into the home economics of running a full-time household and kitchen from an RV.
- “GadgetPlex” — Former Hewlett-Packard execs and software engineers Phil and Tracy May, entering their second year as Fulltime RVers, host an interactive show on consumer electronics gadgets and troubleshooting.
“Most of our shows are geared toward discovering and enjoying the fun and adventure aspects of RVing,” said Dave Dufour, RVNN’s creative director and co-host of several network shows. “We want to be evangelists for the RV lifestyle, and build a community of viewers who contribute as much to the network as they get from it.”
Preview segments began appearing at http://www.rvnn.tv on Wednesday, with full programming beginning Jan. 15.
