Southeast Publications Inc., a producer of guest guides for recreational facilities including RV resorts and campgrounds, reported that its 2012 annual spring meeting was attended by almost 100 sales associates from the U.S. and Canada. According to a press release, the event convened at the Emerald Desert RV Resort in Palm Desert, Calif.
As in past meetings, Southeast Publications held an auction to raise funds that benefit the Kampground of America Inc. (KOA) Care Camps, a non-profit organization that helps send kids with cancer to special camps where they can enjoy camping and recreation experiences. The 2012 spring auction raised $10,238 and Southeast Publications matched the donations for a total of $20,238.
“Southeast Publications has supported the KOA Care Camps program for the last 18 years, we believe in the benefits of camping and in giving back to others,” said Wally Warrick, CEO of Tamarac, Fla.-based Southeast Publications. “Camping is a fun activity and what a better way to help these children than giving them a chance to go camping.”
“Our founder, Peter Warrick, chose KOA Care Camps to be the focus of our belief in giving back and we’ve continued with that tradition since 1994,” says Wayne Morris, vice president of Southeast Publications, which has raised over $400,000 to KOA Care Camps.

According to a press release, Southeast Publications successfully launched the MobileRVing app last month to the Android market.
“Southeast Publications has always been among the leaders in new technology and marketing concepts for various types of travel and hospitality establishments, including RV Parks and campgrounds throughout the U.S. and Canada,” said Wally Warrick, president of Southeast Publications. “Our current search engine site, MobileRVing.com, has been helping RVers for years find the right place to stay and things to do in the area.”
The MobileRVing Mobile App provides users with the ability to search nearby RV resorts and campgrounds by name, state or zip code radius, or simply locate the nearest park. The MobileRVing Mobile App also features GPS Navigation/Mapping.
MobileRVing Mobile App is free and available for download on the App Store for IPhone & IPad and Google Play for Android users.

“MobileRVing” also links mobile guides for the parks and campgrounds to ensure that campers can find the facilities from any device while also providing direct navigation to each park. RVer’s are able to view detailed park information, including site maps and amenities. MobileRVing also allows users to bookmark favorites and keep notes, and make a reservation by contacting the park at the touch of a button
“MobileRVing” will guide you to RV parks and campgrounds that Southeast Publications employees have personally visited and qualified. The “MobileRVing” app is now available for both the Android phone and tablet and will have a full release for iPhones and iPads soon.

According to a press release, both companies have been active with a large number of RV and campground associations while also participating in industry trade shows and conventions. The firms are long-time associates and have been working for the last three years to complete the partnership, which is effective immediately.
Southeast Publications has been family owned since 1986 and specializes in providing site map and area guide marketing among other print services. Based in Tamarac, Fla., the company operates its own 40,0000-square-foot manufacturing/production plant, providing services to over 1,400 accounts each year and supporting special interests within the RV industry. Through formulating a special relationship with Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA), Southeast Publications has help raise over $300,000 for the KOA Care Camps and continues to be committed to their cause.
Strait Web Solutions, based in Port Angeles, Wash., has been owned and operated by Roxi Baxley since 2009. The firm specializes in providing website development and design, website hosting, search engine optimization, social media marketing and other Internet marketing services to the campground industry. Clients include numerous Jellystone Parks and KOA campgrounds along with and many independently owned RV parks.
Southeast Publications presented a check to Kampgrounds of America Inc.’s (KOA) Care Camps for just under $38,000 during last week’s KOA national convention in Las Vegas.
According to a press release, Southeast Publications annually holds auctions at its fall and spring meetings and whatever amount is raised by the sales associates is matched by the company.
“Since we started having the auctions at the company meetings, we have donated over $300,000 to the Care Camps,” reported Kurtis Eiben, company spokesman. “Peter Warrick, the founder of Southeast Publications, was one of the first people to be put on the Care Camps Wall of Fame. His son, Wally, has taken over the company and his passion for the Care Camps is just as big as his father’s.”
“We are looking forward to 2012,” Eiben added. Clint Bell from the San Diego KOA will be joining as an auctioneer next fall.
Peter Warrick, founder and president of Southeast Publications USA Inc. which served the campground industry for 24 years, died May 17.
In 1986 Warrick started an advertising agency, Southeast Publications USA Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In its 24 years Southeast Publications USA Inc. has become the leader in the site map and area guide industry servicing over 1,300 accounts every year. Some other products include marinas guides, fairground interim directories, hotel/motel room guides, guest guides and campus guides for major universities, community colleges and private schools.
The firm also provides resl estate guides, shopping center directories, chamber of commerce maps and golf guides.
Warrick was active in a number of diverse business.
He opened Warrick Custom Hobbies in 1972. Warrick Custom Hobbies of Plantation, “The Hobby Super Store,” is one of the leading hobby retailers in the U.S. with sales worldwide.
Warrick also started Vespa of Fort Lauderdale in 1974 and was a major dealer for Vespa of America. In 1983 he became a Yamaha motor scooter dealer. He got re-involved in the scooter business in 2006 and opened what is now The Scooter Superstore of America with 10 locations.
Southeast Publications will now be under the leadership of Peter’s son, Wally. Wally has been involved with Southeast Publications, as well as his father’s other businesses, for many years.
“Along with the expertise of Southeast Publication’s vice presidents Wayne and Carlene Morris who have been with the company since 1990 and have 40-plus years combined experience in the site map industry, Southeast Publications will continue to lead, continue to grow and continue to create ‘The Best’quality products for its customers,” according to a company statement.
Warrick was born in Detroit in 1947 and had been a resident of Fort Lauderdale since 1949. He was a graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School, class of 1966 and attended Broward Community College.
He started his business career with Burger King Corp. in 1965 as an hourly employee and left Burger King in 1973 as regional manager to start his own business.
