Starcraft RV Inc. kicked off its 5oth anniversary celebration on June 1 with a company picnic and the “AR-ONE Golden Giveaway,” a year-long consumer sweepstakes in the United States and Canada. According to a press release, the 2014 model year marks 50 years in the RV industry for Starcraft.
“We’re excited to be celebrating our 5oth year in business.” said Akos Sefcsik, vice president and general manager for Topeka, Ind.-based Starcraft. “It’s a milestone that not many have achieved in our industry.”
To celebrate the milestone, Starcraft held a company picnic for its employees at its campus in Topeka. Nearly 300 employees attended the picnic where Starcraft catered a lunch, had carnival games for the children and a cornhole tournament for the adults.
In addition, the company also announced The “AR-ONE Golden Giveaway.” It will last a full year and the drawing will take place in June of 2014. The winner of this sweepstakes will be given an AR-ONE 25BHS travel trailer. Participants can enter in two ways, online at the Golden Giveaway website, http://cmcpromotions.
The company has also added a 50th anniversary decal to all 2014 units as well as a 5oth anniversary promotional package featuring various items special for the 5oth year. Other 50th year celebrations include the launch of a new website for the company, a gift bag for every customer who purchases a new, previously untitled model year 2014 unit and an event for dealers during the fall open house.
“We have planned these various 5oth year activities and programs in hopes that our employees, dealers and customers feel as much pride in our 50 years as we do.” said Sefcsik. “We plan to keep this celebration going all year.”

As a sign of the times, Jayco Inc. will hold its Jayco Homecoming event and the Starcraft/Entegra Dealer Meeting 2009 in Middlebury, Ind., in late June, rather than in a major metro area as it has in past years.
“What better way could there be to kick off the economic recovery than to get together for a family reunion right here in Middlebury where it all started 41 years ago,” Jayco wrote in its invitation that went out last week to its dealers.
The Jayco dealer meetings and 2010 new production introductions will be June 23-24, with a similar event for Starcraft Inc. and Entegra dealers will be June 25-26.
The new Jayco units will include the new Precept Class C motorhome, the newly redesigned Baja camping trailer and Recon ZX sport utility RV, Jay Flight travel trailers with new features and graphics and and the new Octane ZX super lite toy hauler.
The new Starcraft products include a newly redesigned Lexicon fifth-wheel with frameless windows, new graphics and tent on the Starcraft, Centennial and RT series camping trailers, the newly redesigned 36RT camping trailer floorplan and new exterior graphics and tent on the Travel Star expandables.
Jayco plans an Amish-style family dinner and awards ceremony at the Das Dutchmen Essenhaus restaurant in Middlebury on June 23, followed by the new product introductions at its main campus. The event will finish with a picnic dinner featuring local food and yard games.
