Super C 33SW by Thor Motor Coach

The retail public gets its first glimpse of the new “Super C” motorhome from Thor Motor Coach, with the introduction of the new 33SW. According to a press release, the new model will be available in the Four Winds and Chateau brands, filling the void in today’s market for “powerful” diesel-powered Class C motorhomes.

Known for its durability and ride quality, the Ford F-550 chassis serves as the foundation of the 33SW with a GVWR topping out at 19,500 pounds. Powered by a 300-hp, 6.7-liter Powerstroke engine with 660-lb.ft of torque and a 6-speed transmission, the 33SW is capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds.

According to Thor Motor Coach, the Ford F-550 Super Duty platform offers owners the benefit of both commercial strength and durability as well as a luxurious automotive cabin and superb ride quality. In addition, the coach will be backed by Thor Motor Coach’s service center network along with Ford service centers throughout North America.

The 33SW come standard with Thor Motor Coach’s HD-MAX high definition exteriors finishes and a long list of standard features that include a 5.5kw Onan generator with automatic start, dual 13,500 Btu air conditioners, slam-latch baggage doors, Bigfoot leveling jacks and a fully molded, one-piece front cap.

Interior amenities include a full-size residential refrigerator, 30-inch over-the-range microwave, solid-surface countertops, 1800-watt power inverter, and solar and privacy window roller shades.

“After the first day here in Tampa, we are getting great feedback on the new Super C Motorhomes,” said Joel Grimm, national sales manager for gas motorhomes at Thor Motor Coach. “The new 33SW is turning heads with the additional living space created using the Ford F550 chassis. Features like diesel power, more maneuverability, better towing capability and better driving comfort are what our customers tell us is missing from the larger Class C RV market.”

NeXus RV Launches Ghost Super C Motorhome

Ghost Super C by NeXus

NeXus RV, a factory-direct manufacturer of Class C and Class C B-Plus style motorhomes, is introducing the Ghost “Super C,” based on the Navistar International Terra Star chassis.

“As we planned when we started NeXus RV, we were going to offer other products that we felt could save our customer’s thousands of dollars while enhancing the entire buying process,” said Claude Donati, president and co-founder of Elkhart, Ind.-based NeXus RV. “Our decision to introduce a Super C motorhome is based on our vast experience with this type of product. We were part of the team that created the category nearly a decade ago.”

NeXus RV plans to introduce the Ghost Super C in two floorplans, a 34G triple slide and a 36G double slide. Both models will start at $139,999.

“As we analyzed the market, it is clear there is a big void in the market for high-quality, affordable Super C motorhomes,” stated Dave Middleton, vice president and co-founder of NeXus RV. “The Ghost will offer many more people the chance to buy a Super C, customize it and save a lot of money in the process.”

NeXus RV, a privately held company, was founded in 2010 and has doubled business every year since. For more information visit www.nexusrv.com or call (574) 970-0848.

TMC Touting 33SW F550 Super C Motorhomes

November 26, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

Thor Motor Coach unveils new series of Super C motorhomes.

Super C Motorhomes are back at Thor Motor Coach, the North America’s most chosen motorhome brand, with the introduction of the new 33SW F550 Super C Motorhomes.

These new “heavy duty,” diesel-powered Ford F-550 Super Duty Class C motorhomes will be available in both the Four Winds and Chateau brands, rounding out two of the most recognized and popular class C brands in the market, according to a news release.

Sporting a Ford F-550 chassis, the 33SW has a GVWR topping out at 19,500 lbs. Power comes from a fuel sipping PowerStroke 6.7L diesel engine flexing a full 300-hp, and hefty 660-lb.ft. of torque. That powerful combination, along with the Ford 6-speed transmission allows the 33SW to maximize the 10,000-lb. trailer hitch. The coach comes standard with an electronic brake controller integrated in the dash, so consumers simply get in and go.

The HD-MAX exterior offers a high-end exterior finish. Every 33SW comes with a long list of standard exterior features, which include a 5.5 Onan generator with automatic start, dual 13.5K roof air conditioners, slam latch baggage doors, Bigfoot leveling jacks and a fully molded, one-piece front cap.

Inside the 33SW, features resemble a luxury yacht, instead of a Class C motorhome. Residential refrigerator, 30-inch over-the-range microwave, solid surface countertops, solar and privacy window roller shades and an 1,800-watt power inverter make the short list of game changing features.

“We are confident this new 33SW will turn heads with the additional living space created using the F550 chassis,” said Joel Grimm, national sales manager for gas motorhomes at Thor Motor Coach. “Features like diesel power, more maneuverability, better towing capability and better driving comfort are what our customers tell us is missing from the larger class C market.”
