Vroomers Slippers: Retro RV-Inspired Footwear

camping_vroomers_styleFor those with a whimsical streak, Rhonda Gelstein of White Lake, Mich., has something that fits nicely into one’s RV lifestyle — Vroomers slippers. Yes, Gelstein has developed something she refers to as ”transportation-inspired footwear” that include styles fashioned after vintage travel trailers. ”I just started doing this as a hobby but people received Vroomers so well I started to get serious about it,” says Gelstein, a vintage auto and RV aficionado and a member of the Tin Can Tourists RV club. She’s also past president of the vintage Metropolitan Owners Club of North America. Although Vroomers silver travel trailer slippers may bring to mind contemporary Airstream RVs, Gelstein said they actually are based on the vintage Avalair brand built briefly in Michigan four decades ago. Other RV styles include a ”Woody Teardrop” and ”Two-Tone Vintage Travel Trailer”, and Gelstein is working on one that resembles a motorhome. The stretchable, one-size-fits-all adult slipper is available for $29.95 at or (248)420-9878
