An estimated 5,000 people turned out in perfect weather for the annual Western New York RV and Boat SuperSale in Henrietta. According to a press release, attendance quadrupled compared to previous years.

“We’ve never had the opportunity to get in front of that many interested families ever,” commented Mark Meyer, president of Mark’s Leisure Time Marine, one of the exhibitors. “The weather was great and the inventory was right for the time.”

The show, advertised as the “Largest Boat and RV Sale of the Year,” ran March 8-11 at the Dome Arena in Henrietta and offered up to $10,000 in rebates on selected units, with bank rates starting at 3.99%.

Two local TV stations gave the show generous coverage, and it was also covered by the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

As reported by the local paper, shoppers included first-timers and people looking to upgrade. Deanne and David Carr of Hilton are avid campers and hikers who currently own a pop-up trailer. They were shopping the show for a larger travel trailer to take on future camping trips with their 14-month-old son Andrew.

“We want more storage space and better overall convenience,” said David Carr. “And the shower feature will be nice, too, for when we hike and come back all muddy.”

This was the first year that D.P. Ball Marketing handled advertising for the event.
