A northern Indiana recreational vehicle furniture manufacturer has announced plans to expand. The South Bend Tribune reports Nappanee-based Williamsburg Furniture Inc. is in the process of opening an additional warehouse in South Bend and intends to hire around two dozen workers.

The company, which also services the hospitality sector, has already hired a small number for the new location.

Company President Lawrence Feiler says the rising price of gas is one of the reasons for the expansion. He also believes a location in St. Joseph County will offer shorter commutes and a potentially larger work force than the areas where his current employees live.

Feiler told the Tribune he intends to also add workers at the Nappanee plant, which currently employs around 130.
