NTEA Sets Dates of ’14, ’15 Work Truck Shows

July 24, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

The NTEA has announced dates for the next two years of The Work Truck Show, which will be held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

According to a press release, the 2014 show will be held March 5-7 while the 2015 edition is set for March 4-6. Both shows will offer educational training the day prior to the opening.

The show has grown in size and attendance since settling in Indianapolis in 2011. Previously, the event rotated among cities. The March 2013 event drew the second highest number of attendees in history, topped only by the 2012 show.

“We’ve had a lot of success in Indianapolis and are fortunate to be able to confirm dates there through 2015,” says Steve Carey, NTEA executive director. “Knowing where the show will be in future years allows us and our exhibitors to focus on new components and enhancements to better serve industry professionals.”

The Work Truck Show brings together more than 10,000 attendees comprised of fleet managers, equipment buyers, manufacturers, maintenance personnel, distributers and dealers. It features 500,000 square feet of the newest vocational trucks, vans and equipment, plus three days of educational sessions and the Green Truck Ride-and-Drive.

Registration for The Work Truck Show 2014 opens in October. A Registration Request site has been created and will be available later this month so that interested parties will be notified by email when the Attendee Internet registration site is open. For more information, visit www.ntea.com.

Work Truck Show Reporting Near Record Gate

March 14, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

The 2013 edition of the Work Truck Show, hosted by the  National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), drew attendance of 10,351 people, just 51 shy of the record set last year despite the massive snowstorm that rolled across the country and stranded many who had planned to attend.

Fleet Owner reported that there was more exhibit space (520 exhibitors covering more than 500,000 square feet of exhibit space) and educational programming in 2013 than ever before, and next year’s show is shaping up to be just as big. NTEA said that 95% of 2014’s exhibit space is already sold.

Held March 6-8 at the Indiana Convention Center, this year’s show was preceded by the Green Truck Summit, jointly produced by NTEA and CALSTART on March 5-6,

“The NTEA is proud to provide the industry’s ultimate platform for sharing new work truck products and cultivating business relationships,” said Steve Carey, NTEA executive director. “It is clear that the Work Truck Show has truly become the single most important forum for work truck professionals throughout North America. With a record level of exhibitor booths already sold for the 2014 show, we are confident that the industry is again poised for growth in the upcoming year.”

The Work Truck Show 2013 featured more than 120 products with vans and fuel-saving technologies receiving the most attention.

Work Truck Show Sets New Attendance Record

March 16, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

The Work Truck Show 2012, held March 6-8 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, was the biggest work truck event in history, according to a press release.

The NTEA reported that the event broke all standing event records, with a verified 10,408 attendees checking out work trucks and equipment from 563 exhibitors.

The event’s Green Truck Summit on March 5-6 also hit new highs, with a keynote address from U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Steven Chu helping to attract a record 772 attendees. This represents a 13% increase over last year’s record Summit turnout.

Produced annually by the NTEA, the association for the work truck industry, The Work Truck Show showcases more than 500,000 square feet of Class 1-8 vocational trucks and equipment. The event also features more than 60 educational and technical training programs, including the Green Truck Summit, North America’s leading educational forum on high-efficiency and alternative-fuel vocational vehicles. The Summit is jointly produced by NTEA and CALSTART.

NTEA Executive Director Steve Carey says the event growth and overall positive atmosphere on the show floor reflect improving market conditions as the industry continues to rebound.

“This is the second year in a row that The Work Truck Show has achieved new records for attendance, exhibitor participation and product launches,” he said. “We will build on this momentum as we prepare to bring an even bigger show back to Indianapolis for an unprecedented third straight year in 2013. In response to growing demand, we’re expanding next year’s Show floor — and have already sold 92% of available space.”

New products continue to be a significant draw for show attendees. This year, more than 120 exhibiting companies launched at least 140 new products, including alternative fuel systems, vehicle components, truck equipment and full-size trucks. Among the many notable launches were a new CNG pickup truck from Ram Trucks and General Motors’ bi-fuel 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD extended cab pickups.

The Work Truck Show 2013 returns to the Indiana Convention Center March 6-8, 2013. Educational programming, including the Green Truck Summit, starts March 5. Online registration opens at NTEA.com in October.
