No one was injured in a two-alarm fire that heavily damaged the Explore USA RV Super Center in Denton, Texas.

According to the Denton Record Chronicle, Fire Marshal Rick Jones estimated the fire caused about $2 million in damage. Investigators traced the start of the fire to one of two RVs parked under the building’s canopy.

“Both were energized at the time, so the air conditioning, refrigerator and appliances were in use at the time of the fire,” Jones said.

Since investigators did not find the fire to be suspicious, they turned the forensic investigation over to the insurance company, he said.

The blaze was called in at 9:05 p.m. to the RV sales and service business. Firefighters were able to contain the damage in a little more than an hour, according to department spokesman Brad Lahart.

“There was a lot of fire in the building,” Lahart said. “And northbound traffic on the interstate was shut down for a time, and we had a long traffic buildup.”
