Yellowstone Debuts Ridgeline Executive Fiver
October 31, 2011 by Bob Ashley · 1 Comment
Yellowstone RV LLC, Nappanee, Ind., has introduced the high-line Ridgeline Executive Series fifth-wheel with up to five slideouts. Available in 37- and 38-foot floorplans, the Ridgeline Executive Series features increased storage, a walk-around King bedroom and residential-style kitchen and livingroom. ”Instead of creating another brand and the confusion that goes along with that, we’ve extended the Ridgeline brand,” said Ken Geljack, general manager of the two-year-old Gulf Stream Inc. subsidiary that also builds Canyon Trail and regular Ridgeline fifth-wheels. Assembled on a variation of a drop frame, the Ridgeline Executive Series offers 39-inch high storage bays with 175 cubic feet of underbelly space along with a compartment for a generator that can instead be used for storage. The 38-footer comes with two slideouts in the bedroom, two in the livingroom and one in the kitchen. With MSRPs ranging from $90,000 to $95,000, amenities include 6 feet 8-inches of headroom in the upper deck with 6-foot, 11-inch high living room slide, Corian countertops, a full bedroom wardrobe, 60-inch showers with three-panel frameless glass doors, vessel sinks, stainless steel residential appliances, two-level island bar, 7-foot-long sofa and retractable living room 42-inch TV.
Yellowstone Debuts Fiver for Short-bed Trucks
August 5, 2011 by RV Business · 1 Comment
Nappanee. Ind.-based Yellowstone RV has introduced the SB-1500 series in its Canyon Trail fifth-wheel lineup that tows, turns and maneuvers perfectly when hitched to today’s extra short-bed pickup trucks – without the need for an expensive slider hitch.
According to a press release, the Canyon Trail XLT SB-1500 offers three highly functional floorplans that use a specially designed front end for excellent turning clearance with pickup truck cargo beds as short as 5½ feet.
Yellowstone said that while the new breed of Crew Cab pickups feature luxurious passenger space, the shorter dimensions of their beds make simple fifth-wheel maneuvers and turns impossible. That’s where the SB-1500 series fits in, with “dimensions and geometry that take the shorter turning radius and restricted clearance of the extra short bed trucks into account.”
The company added that “there’s no shortage of luxury in the SB-1500s.” Like all Canyon Trail fifth-wheels, the new series features premium furnishings, residential-style kitchens, multiple slideouts, state-of-the-art entertainment options, generous lighting and enormous storage spaces. Designs and specifications have been refined with the input of seasoned RVers for easy carefree camping.
Canyon Trail also features the Extreme Weather Protection Package, an advanced combination of foam, fiberglass, urethane, radiant film technology, ventilation and vapor control, providing R38 values in the ceiling, R32 in the floor, and R14 in all four walls. A fully enclosed and heated basement and R38 insulated holding tank compartment contribute to the true four-season capabilities of the Canyon Trail.
The new Aztec Luxury Edition Package, available on all Canyon Trail products including the SB-1500 models, adds a group of sophisticated appearance and performance enhancements particularly popular with Canyon Trail customers.

Yellowstone RV Brand Shines at Michigan Show

Grand Rapids RV reports that its sales perforamnce at the Grand Rapids RV Show, Feb. 17-20, was its best ever.
“We sold more fifth-wheels than we have ever sold in previous Grand Rapids shows, and more than any other dealer did at the show,” Pete Smith, owner, stated in a news release. “I’m looking forward to receiving more product from Yellowstone RV, as their new lineup gives you four price points, just within the Canyon Trail line. Yellowstone has developed three floorplans at half-ton towable without a slider hitch and can be used on 5 ½-foot short bed trucks-that is a first in the industry, as far as I know.
“Their XLT, which is a mid-profile fifth-wheel, has a real warm feeling and has standard features that are optional on most mid-profiles from other manufacturers. Yellowstone has also brought out a new product class-smaller than a full profile unit and larger than a mid-profile, without the extra step in the bedroom — they call this their ‘Advanced Profile.’ I call it just smart.”
Smith went on to explain that the new Yellowstone, now a separate entity from their sister-company, Gulf Stream, has also done away with all their “clones” so you don’t have to sell against the same product across the street with a different name.
“They have taken their Aztec and made it an appearance option group on the Canyon Trail, making my inventory more flexible and I don’t have to stock four of them, as if it was a separate line. Their high-line, the new Ridgeline, is a heck of a value compared to other high-line products in the market. Yellowstone also gives you decent sized territories, but the best feature is Yellowstone units sell and have a good name, stemming from its introduction in 1948.”
Smith went on to say that Grand Rapids RV is looking forward to a great 2011 and feel that Canyon Trail is going to be a big part of their success. Visit Grand Rapids RV online at www.grandrapidsrvcenter.com.

Yellowstone RV Well Received at Tampa Show
February 1, 2011 by RV Business · Leave a Comment
Suncoast RV, one of the premier dealerships for the new Yellowstone RV product line, reported large numbers of orders following the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa with the new Canyon Trail and RidgeLine fifth-wheel lineup.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the retail acceptance of the new Yellowstone products, the response has been phenomenal,” Pat Overby, vice president of operations at Suncoast RV, stated in a news release. “The quality and features are impeccable. Tampa show attendees reported that retail customers were impressed with what they saw in Yellowstone’s Canyon Trail and RidgeLine products. Customers looked all over the show and came back and gave Suncoast one of the best shows ever in total number of retail orders we received in Tampa.”
“The Canyon Trail and RidgeLine are priced to fit points between where other brands fit, with more value added features included,” said Overby. “We were able to raise customers up from some lower priced ‘me too’ products or down form other mainstream name products. So many manufacturers build multiple name products with the same price points. When we have needed factory support, the Yellowstone staff has been incredibly responsive.”
Mark Dunithan, director of engineering for Nappanee, Ind.-based Yellowstone RV, said, “The RidgeLine storage is unbelievable and we are confident it is the largest exterior storage ever offered in any towable product except for a toy hauler.” Dunithan said the company employed engineering normally found only on a motorized chassis with a “fully boxed, raised rail” system, rather than the basic dropped I-beam design.

New Yellowstone RV Firm to Unveil RidgeLine

A "volunteer" shows the roominess in the front storage area of the new RidgeLine fifth-wheel by Yellowstone RV.
Yellowstone RV has announced the debut of the RidgeLine full profile fifth-wheel at next week’s National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky.
“This new product is loaded with value added features for the retail customer,” Mark Lucas of Yellowstone RV stated in a news release. “Not only do we have residential-sized real hardwood cabinetry, walk-around king and queen size beds, radius interior walls, and other items you expect at this price point, but we also offer full hydraulic front landing gear and slide mechanisms, six-sided aluminum construction, 6-foot 6-inch interior bed room height and our patent pending Grand Canyon Chassis Storage System.”
The main front storage trunk measures an astounding 44 inches tall by 65 inches wide and is completely unobstructed from side to side. Mark Dunithan, Yellowstone RV director of engineering and former head of engineering for Heartland’s toy hauler lineup, explained, “This storage is unbelievable and we are confident it is the largest exterior storage offered in any towable at this price point. In fact, we believe it may be the largest storage of any towable product except for a toy hauler.”
Dunithan employed engineering normally found only on a motorized chassis with a “fully boxed, raised rail” system, rather than the basic dropped I-beam design.
This massive storage can be used in multiple ways including golf cart or scooter transport, placement of animal crates, storage for mobile office equipment and files, transport of folding tables and full size gas grills or just to take those unsightly step ladders off of the rear cap.
Other unique RidgeLine features include bonded, frameless windows, 42-inch LCD TVs in all main living areas, 26-inch LCD TVs and built-in AM/FM/CD/DVD players in all master bedrooms. Full fiberglass showers, porcelain toilets and “back saver” solid surface vanity tops are all standard equipment. Interior slide heights are 6 feet 8 inches and main slides are featured in a decorative grasscloth.
“We also offer a built in workshop under the main awning, complete with fold down workbench and tool storage for the handyman or craft enthusiast,” added Dunithan.
Initially offered in five floorplans with both triple and quad slides available, the RidgeLine dry weights will start below 12,000 pounds, and unlike many competitors, this weight includes all forced option packages. MSRPs will start at $52,000.
The RidgeLine products will be on display in booth 3000A in the north wing of the KFEC from Nov. 30 through Dec. 2. or for more information on Yellowstone RV, Ridgeline or Canyon Trail products, please call (800) 811-0302, visit www.yellowstonervs.com or e-mail info@yellowstonervs.com.
