Grand Design Recreational Vehicle Co. announce the hiring of Matt Chupp as the director of marketing on the Grand Design team.

According to a press release, Chupp has a 23-year career background in marketing and engineering digital data systems and solutions in higher education.

Chupp grew up on the supply side of the RV industry, coming to Grand Design from his family’s business, the Mica Shop Inc., a countertop and backsplash supplier for RVs and manufactured homes. Prior to his most recent term at the Mica Shop, Chupp spent eight years marketing at the University of Notre Dame.

The first five of those years he was part of the marketing and communications group at the nation’s top ranked Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Chupp led the marketing group’s web technology projects at Mendoza including the build of Mendoza’s main and supporting websites, digital business magazine, and complementary digital marketing and social media efforts.

Chupp left the Mendoza School to join the Notre Dame women’s basketball staff in September of 2012 as director of basketball operations and marketing where he oversaw all aspects of the Fighting Irish women’s basketball program including the team’s marketing, promotions, and other duties related to Notre Dame’s nationally-ranked recruiting efforts.

“Matt’s deep and diverse marketing experience will add a tremendous amount of value for Grand Design and our dealers,” stated Don Clark, president and CEO of Grand Design RV. “He has embraced the company’s unique culture and we are excited about the relationships he has already built with our company personnel and the direction he is taking our marketing efforts. His talent and diverse experience bring a fresh perspective that is very much welcome in our industry. His passion is contagious, and his vision is the right path to keep us in touch with our dealers and customers far into the future. We are investing in our Marketing efforts and we are very excited to have Matt as part of the Grand Design family.”
