Retail registration figures for January 2019 decreased year-over-year, although officials were quick to point out that the month still represents one of the best ever Januarys on record.
According to Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Statistical Surveys Inc., towables this past January were down 9%. However, January 2019 still represents the second best January since 2003.
Likewise, while motorized was down about 24% year-over-year, January 2019 is the best month ever for Class B’s, and the fourth best month for the Class A and C segments since 2009
This follows 2018, which set an all-time high of 489,440 units in terms of new retail registrations — an increase of 3.57% over 2017, which was the best year on record.
