SSI: Canada Towable Sales up 3.4% for Full Year
Canadian towable sales gained 3.4% during 2018, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
Results by segment showed:
Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through December with a 52.9% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. (34%) and Grand Design RV Co. (6%).
By segment, Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the 12 months, claiming a 54.4% market share, followed by Forest River (34.2%) and Grand Design (3.9%). Thor was No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 53.2% market share, followed by Forest River (26.3%) and Grand Design (17.4%).
Forest River led Canadian folding camping trailer sales through December with a 73.2% market share, ahead of No. 2 Thor with a 14.6% share. Woodland Park topped the park model RV segment with a 46% market share, while Kropf Manufacturing Co. garnered a 22% share. Cavco Industries Inc. and Forest River each held a 14% share.
